*Henri Bendel* sells cosmetics, handbags, and a ton of accessories. You can get lost for hours looking at all their cute little bracelets, rings, and accessories! This little bag makes everyone happy =)

 

Baked by Melissa has the tiniest cutest cupcakes ever! Perfect for sharing and not worrying about the calories!

 Macaron Cafe has the best macaroons we've ever tried (except for Paris, of course)! And they are so pretty <3

Papyrus Stationary has such pretty cards and each one is very unique! Here is an example of one Vee got her mom this year.

Day at the Theater

 Hi Loves!

My mom's favorite show on Broadway is Phantom of the Opera, which she and I went to go see about 10 years ago. Since I was in Junior High School back then and didn't remember much of it I figured it was time to go again! So I bought tickets for my mom as a Christmas gift and since my dad's Birthday is a few days after Christmas, I figured we'd go as a family and I'd have a gift for my dad too!

It was AMAZING!! I love going to Broadway Shows and I've seen many but I'd have to say Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King have to be my favorite of all time! If any of you are in New York I highly recommend them. [esp since NYC Broadway Week is coming up :-)  ]
Before the show we had some time and stopped by Macaron Cafe (which I also recommend- YUMM)

Connecticut Christmas 2012

Hello Loves!

I know I am past due on posting about my Wonderful Christmas, but better late than never! I had a beautiful Christmas with my family and boyfriend! We spent a week in Connecticut at my parents home, and I was so thankful for all the family time since I do not see them often, being I live in NYC.

Below are some of the photos I wanted to share with you all! My mom loves Victorian homes, and you will see that she is very good at conveying that feel!

Brides Magazine *Operation Dream Dress*

Hi Loves

I wanted to share with you that one of my passions is designing and in February 2011 I was picked among hundreds of candidates to participate in BRIDES Magazine's, Operation Dream Dress. While I made top 20, I was shy of making top 5. First place earned the cover of BRIDES August issue, a write up, and a $10,000 prize. Even though I didn't win, I was extremely proud of my final product.

Diamond white net overlay, with placed gray and white hand sewn sequins.
Diamond white silk charmuese slip. Slip is dip dyed for a gray ombre effect.
1/2" pleated waist band with back bow tie, in dark gray charmuese.
Black Pearl button center back closure.

Shining Moon Nails

I have recently become obsessed with the 1930's style manicure of doing a half moon on the inside of your nails. I decided to go all glam and try it for New Years! I did a light pink "moon" with a glittery silver/gold top. So easy to do and looks fun and different!

I filed my nails first, I always like a square shape

 You can use the french manicure guidelines or the hole reinforcements like I did (got mine at Target) to help make the moon shape.

The nail polish color I used for the "moon" part is "Ice and Desire" by Duri (not sure where they sell this brand anymore but I ordered mine on Amazon.com); after I put this nail color on I waited about an hour to make sure they were 100% dry

 I put the silver color on first then followed by the gold and waited about 20 min for them to dry. Then I started to remove the hole reinforcements (my "moon" guides). As you can see I wasn't worried about polishing my nail perfectly because I wanted to make sure I got as close to the skin as possible. Then I used a Q-Tip and nail polish remover to remove any excess nail polish.

 ..and voila- Fabulous Glittery Nails!

Top Coat- Sally Hansen Speed Shine 10 Day Top Coat (I believe this was discontinued, I order mine on Amazon.com)

Moon Base: Duri "Ice and Desire" 

Glittery Top: Wet N' Wild Fergie Collection "Going Platinum" and Butter "West End Wonderland Nail Lacquer"
