A Very Merry Polish Christmas

Hi Loves

I wanted to share with you and tell you about my Christmas. My family does a traditionally Polish Christmas every year. This includes not eating meat on Christmas Eve, doing a big Christmas Eve dinner (meatless) and sharing of the wafer with everyone at dinner.
Before we can all sit down at the table and start eating, we take a piece of a wafer (shown in picture below) that represents the host that is given at Church. We then go up to each person at dinner and wish them something nice from the heart and break off a little piece of each others wafer and eat it.
Food includes a beet soup with homemade little mushroom pierogis that look like wontons (picture shown below)- some years we will have a mushroom soup instead or in addition.
There are lots of fish dishes as well, since we don't have meat, and of course homemade perogis! Both with cheese/potatoe and with sauerkraut/mushrooms.
There are also other smaller additions such as mushrooms and salads.

I love the Holidays and hope you loved seeing a little part of mine! (we also open gifts on Christmas Eve!!)

Whatever Holiday you celebrate I wish everyone the very best and a Happy New Year!!

Xoxo Vee
